Organizational Structure and Strategic Framework of the City Boy Movement

The City Boy Movement is established as a nationally coordinated, grassroots-driven civic and political organization with the primary objective of ensuring broad representation, strong community presence, and effective engagement across all regions of Nigeria. The Movement is structured to promote inclusive participation, efficient coordination, and sustained civic involvement at every level of society.

1. National Leadership

The National Leadership serves as the central coordinating authority of the City Boy Movement. It is responsible for setting the overall vision, mission, and strategic direction of the organization. Key functions include:

  • Developing national policies, programs, and advocacy strategies aligned with the Movement’s objectives

  • Coordinating nationwide campaigns and initiatives

  • Managing public engagement, media relations, and national communications

  • Representing the Movement in interactions with government institutions, civil society organizations, and strategic partners

2. State Directors and State Chapters

State Directors oversee the implementation of the Movement’s agenda at the state level, adapting national strategies to local contexts while maintaining alignment with central objectives. State Chapters act as operational hubs within each state.

Their responsibilities include:

  • Organizing and coordinating state-wide programs, campaigns, and civic initiatives

  • Mobilizing volunteers, members, and community leaders within the state

  • Liaising with local stakeholders, traditional institutions, and civil society groups

3. Local Government and Ward Officials

Local Government and Ward Officials form the backbone of the City Boy Movement’s grassroots presence. They operate at the community level and maintain direct, continuous engagement with citizens.

Their core functions include:

  • Building strong relationships with community members, youth groups, and local influencers

  • Mobilizing residents for civic participation, voter registration, and election-related activities

  • Identifying community needs and communicating them to state and national leadership

4. Diaspora Directors

Diaspora Directors represent the City Boy Movement’s commitment to global civic outreach and inclusion of Nigerians living abroad. This structure harnesses the skills, resources, and influence of the Nigerian diaspora in support of national development.

Their responsibilities include:

  • Engaging Nigerian citizens and youth in the diaspora on civic and political issues

  • Coordinating international advocacy, awareness campaigns, and policy dialogues

  • Mobilizing diaspora support for civic education, capacity building, and community projects

  • Facilitating knowledge transfer, mentorship, and resource mobilization for domestic initiatives
